We've received a trunk show in from Martingale of a few projects from the new That Patchwork Place book titled Quilting with Fat Quarters. They are such lovely quilts! If you're in the area, do stop by to see them in person!
This book features 17 new patterns from the staff at That Patchwork Place. All patterns are inspired by fat quarters - those irresistible little bundles of color! You can showcase your favorite fabrics from batiks to Japanese taupes, reproduction prints, and modern prints and solids. This book will give you expert instruction with clear, step-by-step illustrations.
The quilt on the cover of Quilting with Fat Quarters is titled "Heat Wave" and is currently hanging in our store. It is a stunning quilt to see in person. Make it hot or cold or create a rainbow for a newborn. "Heat Wave" was designed, pieced, and machine quilted by Abbi Barden. Abbi describes how she designed this quilt using an analogous combination of colors (a palette of colors that lie next to each other on the color wheel). And isn't a wonderful combination?!
This next quilt is called Sherbert Punch, designed and pieced by Tracy Overturf. Here's a little tip she gives in the book: "Collecting the fat quarters for this quilt is half the fun, especially if you do it a little at a time. Just pick a color scheme and look for those colors at each quilt shop you visit. When you look at the finished quilt, you'll remember where you got each fabric!"
We've paired this quilt with two beautiful fabric lines we have in the shop right now. Coquette by Moda is a bright and cheery line similar to the colors used in "Sherbert Punch" - perfect for those baby girls on the way!
